What differentiates SOAR?

Concept-Based Curriculum

Most schools teach through memorization - not us! Our concept-based instruction is driven by “big ideas” rather than subject-specific content. By helping students understand the context in which they will use their understanding, students know how to apply their knowledge to new situations

Digital literacy

We integrate technology into classroom activities and the curriculum to enrich a meaningful 21st-century learning experience. In today's world, technology has permeated all aspects of our lives. We, at SOAR, focus on developing students’ critical thinking skills, creating an awareness of the necessary standards of behaviour expected in online environments, and developing an understanding of the shared social issues created by digital technologies.

Digital Tools

Our digital apps have completely transformed how we are imparting education to our students. We aim to empower our learners to augment their understanding in a variety of ways. It is not only interesting but also provides access to a myriad of topics which enhances not only comprehension but also critical thinking skills.

Blue Apprentice

Blue Apprentice is an adventure-based science learning solution that supports teachers and empowers young learners, building a strong foundation for academic success.

Code.org

With Code.org, kids learn to code using visual block codes that represent real programming concepts. it is a great resource that can grow alongside the student and help to give them a thorough, well-rounded coding education through high school.

VidMaker

VidMaker is a 3D video maker tool, with built-in powerful and engaging tools including a grammar feature, mini thesaurus, drawing tool, child-safe web search, and much more. VidMaker adds a modern touch to storytelling with advanced analytics to monitor learning.

Technology in the classrooms

  • Google Classroom is an important tool for communication at SOAR. It allows the teachers to set assignments, mark, and return graded papers. Students follow google classroom for daily schedule, and announcements, as a digital diary, to work collaboratively with their peers, submit assignments and receive feedback.

  • Tablets on Wheels allow teachers to implement differentiation throughout instruction. Students can work at their own pace during assignments and teachers have the opportunity for one-on-one instruction.

  • Wireless and wired internet are available everywhere on campus for students and teachers. ICT is integrated into every class through the use of online textbooks, Google Classroom, and Google Apps for Education.

  • Gamification is used in the classroom to foster fun, engaging learning through games. Through videos, simulations, computer games, and quizzes, fun lessons are created that promote active learning.

Robotics

At S3, Robotics is taught as a core subject from Kindergarten to Grade 8. Our        unique curriculum derived from the standards of technology and engineering literacy offers project-based learning opportunities which foster academic achievement and expose students to various STEM fields.

Our customised robotic kits and specially designed robotic journals allow students to discover deep connections between Robotics and other disciplines such as Computer Science, Artificial intelligence, and Mechatronics.

The robotics lab is equipped with collaborative spaces, design centres, and independent workstations that open up dozens of opportunities for students to build innovative projects with sustainable solutions. Makerspaces allow students to be creative and innovative through hands-on experimentation to solve real-world problems.

Robotic competitions and exhibitions are a regular feature of the school. Students develop important skills through these challenges such as critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and perseverance.

SOAR TEACHER TRAINING INSTITUTE (STTI)

Professional development transforms teachers into better and more apt educators by enabling them to create relevant and tailored course instructions for today’s students. Our SOAR leadership has industriously developed a teachers’ status, education, and training program which comes under our SOAR Teacher Training Institute.

The programme is divided into three stages of 60 credit hours each, whereby at the end of the stage the teachers are given a certificate of completion. At the time of hiring the teacher undergoes an induction training course to ease her into our school philosophy and teaching styles. This important and vital foundation allows teachers to build on their existing capabilities and qualifications to specialise in and learn the latest teaching pedagogies and skills.

Our Trainers at the Early, Primary, and Secondary levels help teachers to become better at planning their time and staying organised. We believe that the more professional development a teacher undergoes, the more knowledge and industry insight he or she gains.

Implementing professional education development has benefits for both teachers and students, but most importantly, teachers become better educators and develop into competent future school administrators.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR)

SOAR FREE PUBLIC ACCESS LIBRARIES

As we continue to think about how we can transform Private Education in Pakistan, we’ve realised that our neighbourhoods lack public libraries where children can be inspired to develop a love for reading.

Under our CSR initiative, we inaugurated all our campus libraries on 24th August 2019 and turned them into free public access libraries where children from the neighbourhood can borrow books to read! Each of our libraries has almost 10,000 books giving children access to a wide selection from the best publishers and authors in the world. This provision is supporting our young learners in broadening their perspectives through reading.

Our library caters to children from 4 years to 11 years old every Saturday from 12 noon to 2 pm. Everyone is welcome at SOAR STEM Schools to read and be inspired

GREEN SCHOOL

In addition to being a window into your child’s educational journey, SOAR Information System (SIS) is part of our attempt to be environmentally friendly and to encourage a paper-free environment for notification to parents.

We not only espouse social and civic responsibility, but we also live it and invest in it. SIS and the

solar-panel utilising power backup systems at our schools are one small way by which we intend to contribute to society. Our school’s campaign “Get Net Zero” is creating awareness amongst students, parents, and teachers to safeguard the plant for future generations.
